SAPS searches for suspects connected to Belfast Traffic Department robbery

The police spokesperson said four armed men had forcefully entered the premises and handcuffed the security guards.

The Belfast police are looking for several suspects in connection with a business robbery incident that occurred on Wednesday January 12 at the Belfast Traffic Department.

A provincial police spokesperson, Brig Selvy Mohlala, said, “According to the information, four armed men forcefully entered the premises and handcuffed the security guards.

“They headed to the safe, cut it open, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled. The matter was reported to the police and a business robbery case was opened.”

Mohlala said the police requested anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspects to immediately contact WO Shane Coetzee on 084 510 4761, or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.

Alternatively, members of the public may send information via the My SAPS app. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
