Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy play to a draw

The Rockets had the better of territory and possession but managed only three shots on target

Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy played to a 0-0 draw at FNB Stadium last night.

The DStv Premiership game was a rather dull affair with the home team having two shots on target and TS Galaxy three.

Wayde Lekay missed a penalty in the 27th minute after Kgotso Moleko brought Lindokuhle Mbatha down in the box. Lekay’s powerful shot rebounded off where the crossbar and right upright meet.

TS Galaxy got off to a nervous start, but once settled down looked the better team for the last 25 minutes of the first half. They had the majority of possession and opportunities, but could not find that finishing touch.

Chiefs came back stronger in the second half, but Galaxy defended well. TS Galaxy had the better of the closing stages of the match, but still failed to create goal-scoring opportunities.

Neither team shone on the night, but playing away, TS Galaxy will be happier with the result.

It was a game Galaxy could have won. Chiefs are not a shadow of the team pre-Covid last season. Gavin Hunt was not a happy coach.

Chiefs have played three matches and are yet to score a goal.

Each team took home one log point. Chiefs are 11th and Galaxy 7th on the log table.

TS Galaxy captain and defender, Given Msimango was the man of the match.

Both teams will play their next matches on November 21, TS Galaxy against Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium and Chiefs versus Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
