Another member of the Mpumalanga legislature tests positive

The MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Gabisile Tshabalala is the latest member to test positive. She obtained her results this morning. 

A third member of the Mpumalanga provincial legislature has tested positive for Covid-19  in less than a  week. This happened a day after the Premier of the province, Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane, tested positive for Covid-19.

Tshabalala is currently in self-isolation at home where she is following all the precautions as outlined by medical practitioners. On September 26 ,the MEC for finance, economic development and tourism, Pat Ngomane, also tested positive for the virus.

They will all work remotely from their homes. “The premier said the number of infections in the province is starting to pick up again. She urges residents not to take this virus lightly. She said now is the time to be extra vigilant, wear your mask, wash your hands vigorously with soap, sanitise and practise social distancing,” said Sibongile Mkani-Mpolweni, spokesperson for the premier.
