Crowns open doors for aspiring young models
Six beauty queens were crowned on the weekend during a pageant organised by the Golden Molatche Modelling Agency, at Mercure Hotel.
The agency, formed by KaNyamazane’s former beauty queen, Bongi Shiba, aimed to empower aspiring models from as young as five years old.
“The Golden Molatche Modelling Agency provided all the essential training sessions to boost the girls self-esteem and confidence. We also taught them choreography for ramp walking and performance, communication skills and public speaking,” explained Shiba.
The show saw Akila Sibambo crowned Miss Mpumalanga Primary School 2020. The bubbly Uyanda Mazibuko won Miss Mpumalanga Heritage 2020.
The lovely Matimu Zitha walked away with the title of Miss Mpumalanga Golden Molatche 2020.
Isabelle Lephoko won Miss Mpumalanga High School, Gracious Theledi won the Mini Miss Mpumalanga while Fatima Banda scooped Mpumalanga’s Next Top Model.
Winners were awarded a year contract with Golden Molatche Modelling Agency, gold medals and modelling certificates.
Shiba thanked the management of Mercure Hotel, Orange Restaurant and Kenyan-born Mary Mbugua for supporting the event.
