Five tons of sugar packages were donated to supplement the food packages prepared at the center for impoverished communities in and around the province.

“I’m grateful to the worthy donations we’ve been receiving from all stakeholders. The president has also announced increments of various grants as further relief for communities.”

She appealed to mothers, especially, not to utilize this money for hairdos and other luxuries.

“Hairdos, make-up have no space during this Covid-19 era. We’re all going about our duties without weaves and make-up. We’ll see that after we’ve conquered the virus,” she said.

Speaking to fraud pertaining food parcels, she said, “We have a clear process of food distribution through our social workers and other components. We’ve got cases of officials currently undergoing disciplinary processes.”
