Local bares a striking resemblance to Generations’ actor

Abednico Mabaso, from Mphenyatsatsi Village, can never get used to the attention he gets in public places when people think he is actually Vuyo Dabula from SABC 1's soapie, Generations The Legacy, popularly known for his role as Gaddafi.

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – He’s tried to brush off comments made to him on the streets about the resemblance between him and a famous actor, but has given up and accepted his nickname.

Abednico Mabaso, from Mphenyatsatsi Village, can never get used to the attention he gets in public places when people think he is actually Vuyo Dabula from SABC 1’s soapie, Generations The Legacy, popularly known for his role as Gaddafi.

“It’s strange how people think we look alike, while I don’t even see the resemblance between Vuyo and I, but I guess there is no harm in being compared to a popular person. At times I find my pictures mixed with his, which I find hilarious,” he chuckled.

Abednico Mabaso was recently crowned Mr Bushbuckridge.

The 27-year-old management assistant student, who was recently crowned Mr Bushbuckridge, told Mpumalanga News he has a keen interest in acting and would love the opportunity to meet the actor one day as he has a “few questions” for him.

“I cannot reveal what I would ask Vuyo should I meet him, but I certainly would like a word or two with him. I’m currently doing modelling part-time and my agent is assisting me with pursuing an acting career and hopefully soon, I might hit the screen.”

With support from his family, church and locals, he hopes to succeed and own one of the biggest media companies in the country and of course, to meet his lookalike one day.
