Ehlanzeni district tops them all in the 2019 matric results
This is the only district that performed above the provincial and National Average.
Ehlanzeni District recorded the highest pass rate from all the four districts in the province. The district obtained 84,6 per cent pass rate which is a 2,3 per cent increase from the 82,3 per cent obtained in 2018.

“This district registered the highest number of candidates for the National Senior Certificate Examinations in the province, which is 11 887 and it improved its performance.
This is the only district that performed above the provincial and National Average,” said MEC Bonakele Majuba, while delivering the National Senior Certificates results at Graceland
hotel on January 8.
The second best district is Nkangala District which recorded 80,6% pass rate as compared with 78.7 per cent for 2018. This is an improvement of 1,9 per cent .
Gert Sibande District obtained 79,3 per cent as compared with 77,5 per cent for 2018. This is an improvement of 1,8% .
Bohlabela District delivered 76,7 per cent as compared with 76.9 per cent obtained in 2018. This constitutes a 0,2% decline and it is the only district that experienced a decline in the province.
