Lover of deceased loan shark and teacher found guilty on three charges

MBOMBELA – The woman accused of the murder of loan shark and educator, Vusi Mona, was found guilty on three charges in the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court last Thursday.

Mona’s lover, Simangele Shongwe and her co-accused, Sizwe Shongwe stood trial in May facing charges of housebreaking, kidnapping, murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Simangele was arrested following the police investigation, and made her first appearance on April 4, 2017 and was later released on bail.
