Here’s some safety tips for the thunderstorm season

Seeing that the thunderstorm season is upon us, it is important to take safety precautions when thunderstorms strike. All thunderstorms produce lightning and are dangerous. If you hear the sound of thunder, then you are in danger from lightning.
It is also important to avoid using electrical equipment with chords plugged in wall sockets. The South African Weather Service has advised that when there are thunderstorms, go indoors. If you are in Gauteng, severe thunderstorms are expected today from late afternoon continuing into early hours of tomorrow morning which can result in heavy downpours and localised flooding as well as strong winds.
