Suspect’s case found with drugs worth over R2 million postponed

The suspect was charged for possession of drugs and drug trafficking.

MBOMBELA- A 35-year-old man appeared at the Nelspruit District Court on Thursday after he was arrested with R2,2 million worth of Mandrax.

Bartram Egwuonwu  was arrested on Wednesday, August, 28 during a joint operation led by the Secunda and Middleburg Serious Organised Crime Investigation teams assisted by the Nelspruit TRT after information surfaced of a vehicle that was transporting drugs from Mozambique to South Africa.

The vehicle fitting the description was spotted and intercepted on the N4. Mandrax tablets were found in the vehicle and the suspect was arrested.

He is facing charges of possession of drugs and drug trafficking.  The case is postponed to September 18  for a formal bail application.
