More deaths on the province’s roads in two days
More than six lives have been lost between Friday and Saturday in horrific road accidents in Mpumalanga so far.
A head on collision claimed six lives on the R544 last night.
The collision happened between two sedans between Emalahleni and Verena.
In one of the vehicles, a Volkswagen sedan, five people died and they are believed to be from one family.
The deceased include three children aged approximately between two and 13 years. The vehicle was travelling from KwaMhlanga to Emalahleni.
One of the deceased was a passenger in another vehicle. Three others were seriously injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital in Emalahleni.
At the moment the cause of the collission has not yet been established. The Safety Engineering unit in the department along with RTMC and the police will investigate the cause of the accident.
