Streetwear on Fleek, See what is the latest fashion trends with RepSpear Clothing

A passion for art and design saw 27-year-old Sithembinkosi Repinga, founder of RepSpear Clothing, making his mark in the clothing industry.

Growing up in the dusty areas of Block B in the Nkomazi Local Municipality did not deter him from becoming a well-known brand in eMalahleni, where he lives now.

“The love I had for the arts and design saw me starting this business with no formal training at any design school. I started making sketches and designs that I wished to see coming to life.”

“In 2015 I started bringing them to life with the aim of starting a clothing brand that South Africans would easily relate to and intended to address the modern-day visionaries,” he said.

He also intends enrolling for a fashion and design course soon, although he prides himself on the quality and uniqueness of his designs.

“I make specific designs at a particular time for different occasions to the client’s desire and deliver anywhere in the country at a minimum cost,” he said.

Besides being a qualified engineering technician, he always finds time to stitch fabrics together because he loves promoting his brand and those of other local designers.

Motivating young entrepreneurs

He is motivated by the entrepreneurial drive of young people in the country. So, together with other entrepreneurs,  established an organization called the African Renaissance Cooperative (ARC) Savings Organization.

“This is a group of young entrepreneurs which seeks to promote unity in business and bring together resources for young entrepreneurs in order to strive for better and also learn from each other.”

Through the organization we hope to start at least one business each year,” he added.

Sithembinkosi also values the art of giving back to the community. He recently donated school shoes to needy learners in Nkomazi on his birthday, May 7.

The organization‘s programme for this year is an initiative called Fun

Run for School Shoes, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle while giving to the community. “The fun run will be held somewhere in September,” he said.
