Selati Cup final to be a spectacle like no other

The ladies’ final is a must watch as the top 6 leading goal scorers of the tournament play for the finalists.

The Selati Cup Final could be called “the repeat” as both teams played in the 2018 finals with Boschfontein FC claiming victory.

The match is set to be a spectacle of the season, after defending champions Boschfontein FC and Langeloop Blue Crane both defeated their opponents during penalties this past Sunday. After a tough 1-1 draw, Boschfontein managed to secure an explosive 4-3 penalty win much to opponent Managa Royal Eagles’s dismay. The same fate fell upon Schuzendal Eleven Experience, who lost to Langeloop Blue Crane 3-2 at penalties after a 0-0 draw.
The ladies’ teams kept up their incredible tournament performances once again as Nkomazi Ladies and Schoemansdal Super Strikers both beat their respective opponents Schoemansdal Young Stars and Phefeni United Ladies 2-0. The ladies’ final is a must watch as the top 6 leading goal scorers of the tournament play for the finalists.
“I’m proud to have been able to witness these games, knowing that the generation coming behind me in this Cup and my home town continues to bring excitement and happiness to others, but more importantly come out to showcase their talent for all to see, brings immense pride to me as a product of this same tournament.” said Selati Cup ambassador, Enocent Mkhabela. “Having met the team coaches last week as we handed over the finalists’ kits and seeing their passion for the game. I knew to expect a tough final.” Mkhabela handed over the Selati sponsored finalist kits last week Thursday, ahead of the semifinal.
Beaming with pride, tournament coordinator, Kenneth Phiri added “After 126 matches played in the tournament, with a total 693 goals scored from 128 participating teams, the final will be closing one of the most exciting seasons of Selati Cup thus far. We’re so proud to be able to bring joy to the region through this cup and we hope to continue to make our Nkomazi community proud to participate in, as well as give back through such a great tournament.”
The 7th and final round will be held at Kamhlushwa Stadium on Sunday 02 June. Fans can stay up to date with fixtures, results, breaking news by following the Selati Cup Facebook Page.
