Nominate your favourite sports star

Sports and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) TOGETHER WITH South African Sport Conferedation and Olympics Committee (SASCOC) embarked on the creation of the South African Sports Awards brand in a bid to reward South Agfrican sports stars for their efforts in keeping the passion of sports alive in the hearts of millions of South Africans through their efforts in local and international sports competitions.

These awards have been created to recognize and honour individuals and teams who have excelled both and off field. This is a way of recognizing and rewarding those who participate, coach or volunteer in sports. The nominations process was officially opened on May 13.

All sports federations are welcome to nominate those who participate, coach and volunteer in sports and are registered with federations.

All categories are inline with the rule book for the national sports awards.

The categories are as follows:
• Sport Administrator of the year
• Sport journalist of the year
• Sport photographer of the year
• School team of the year
• Developing school of the year
• New comer of the year
• Volunteer of the year
• People’s choice sports star of the year
• Indigenous games team of the year
• Recreation body of the year
• Team of the year
• Coach of the year
• Sports Club/ federation of the year
• Sport woman of the year ( with disabilities)
• Sport woman of the year
• Sport man of the year ( with disabilities)
• Sport man of the year
• Sport star of the year
• Sport fan of the year

*Lifetime achiever award
*Sport Legend award

Sports organizations and media houses may nominate as many athletes as they wish for any of the respective award catergories in the 2018/ 2019 period. Nominations closes on May 31.
