#PleaseCallMeMovement: Nkosana Makate supporters vow to boycott Vodacom

MEC of Education in Gauteng Panyaza Lesufi is also part of the movement. Vodacom's legal team served him with documents alleging that he was defaming the company.

Protesters gathered at the Vodacom headquarters in Midrand this morning in support of Please Call Me inventor Nkosana Makate.

This comes after a long legal battle with the telecommunications company and Makate for reasonable compensation for Makate’s idea. The Constitutional Court ruled that both parties needed to agree on reasonable compensation three years ago. Recently Makate rejected the Vodacom’s offer describing it to be ridiculous and flawed.

Social media users weighed in on the battle that has been trending for since the beginning of the week. Some vowed to boycott the service provider should they not make the payment by today.
