ALERT:Theft out of motor vehicle rife in Mbombela
The most affected areas include Henshall Street, Brown Street, Anderson Street, Bester Street, Samora Machel Drive, Ferreira Street and parking parking areas in some of the shopping complexes and malls.
Local police are concerned about the theft of motor vehicle incidents in the City Business District(CBD)
Capt Zandile Gqawa urges motorists not to leave valuable items such as laptops, cameras, cellphones and other belongings on the seats or where criminals have access.
” They are requested to always ensure that all vehicle doors and windows are properly locked before moving away from the vehicle. Also lock doors and windows when approaching stop signs and traffic lights and do report any suspicious activities to the police,” Capt Gqawa said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a post from the Nelspruit Concerned Citizens has been circulating on Facebook alerting the community to be on the lookout for a suspicious vehicle spotted around Ferreira Street this week.
