Zimu is part of stars to rock annual All jeans Gospel festival

Zimu, whose works date as far back as 1996 where he started as former founder and member of Family Factory and Joyous Celebration, is also part of the Spirit of Praise ensemble.

Contrary to lack of information by so-called gospel fanatics, Neyi Zimu who was born Moses Gcinumuzi, does not hail from the Eastern Cape but Small Farm, in the Vaal and is no novice to the industry.

Zimu, who will perform with other award-winning gospel artists such as Dr Tumi, Lebo Sekgobela, His Grace Ministers, Blondie Sexwale, Thula Ndlovu and many local artists, is expected to showcase his talent to the world when he performs at the annual All-Jeans Praise & Worship Gospel Festival at the Thaba Moshate Hotel and Casino Convention Resort in Burgersfort on 16 December.

This association saw him branch off into several other collaborations and involvements with a variety of artists over the years, until eventually, Neyi released his long-awaited solo Gospel album “Excited”, in 2001 featuring renowned musician, Concorde Nkabinde and Jazz Duo ‘Tsunami’

Following the success of ‘”Excited’ Neyi went on to release his second a and third album ‘Ena ke Nako’. in 2003 and “Message” in 2007 respectively.

Among Neyi’s successes are anointed songs like “Lamb of God”, “Higher Higher”, “Come As You Are”, “Hamba Nami” and “Lord We Worship You”.

He has shared the stage with the likes of The Manhattans (during their South African tour) Sibongile Khumalo, Benjamin Dube, Rebecca Malope and the late Wendy Mseleku and Vuyo Mokoena.

The father and husband, who is also a pastor and founder of the All Nations Revival Ministries in Midrand – from where he serves his congregation loyally – is expected to save a few souls when he takes to the stage on that December Sunday night..

Meanwhile, Dr Tumi has five awards to his name, which he bagged in 2016, when he won Best Gospel Album, Best Gospel Artiste, Best Gospel Producer, Best Gospel Song and Male Artiste during the SABC Crown Gospel Awards.

On the other hand, in her musical career, Sekgobela has had the privilege to minister through music in many places in South Africa as well as abroad in places such as Singapore, New York, London, Chicago, Lesotho and Botswana. She has also performed with South African artists such as William Sejake, Vicky Vilakazi, Zimu and many more.

Bruce Kgapane, owner of Ziyaphenduka Marketing and Events Logistics which organises the event in conjunction with Limpopo Tourism Authority, say they are expecting more than 10 000 people.

“I appeal to fans to grab their tickets as soon as possible because the venue can only accept a limited number of fans. For safety reasons, we will not sell more than the venue can accommodate. Avoid disappointment and grab yours today,” he advises.
