Acid mugging suspect arrested
Three victims of separate acid mugging incidents are struggling to come to terms with their scarred faces and bodies.
MBOMBELA- Police arrested a 38-year old man on Friday following a robbery that took place last month in the CBD.
The arrest of the suspect follows an incident where Rudolf Nkosi(30) was allegedly accosted by approximately six men who poured acid on him and robbed him of his cellphone before fleeing the scene.
Another victim is currently undergoing treatment for his damaged eye.
Following this incident the police managed to track down the suspect at his hideout, around Valencia Park where he was then arrested.
The suspect is due to appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday, October 15facing a charge of robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.
Police are making an appeal to anyone who may have fallen victim to the suspects’ antics, but could not open a case, or have information in general about the remaining suspects to contact Detective Colonel Ernest Maoka on 082 318 9843.
