Through the grapevine: Be original, copies fade way too fast

Already our government has taken over with their blanket donations in summer. This is the Lowveld and it’s blazing hot!

Can we make it crystal clear that legacy foundations are not just initiatives to gain fame and to toy around with?

They’ve become so fashionable in the province just like those fake Gucci sling bags abo brothers bendawo carry around on weekends. Anyway, asikho lapho! Our timelines can’t be flooded by pictures from these foundations where sanitary pads and 10-kilogram bags of mealie meal are donated and expect publicity. Already our government has taken over with their blanket donations in summer. This is the Lowveld and it’s blazing hot!

Why not come up with different concepts instead of the copy and paste of charity projects? Haai niyasihlula and the young ones seem to be following the trend lately. Think about having your name associated with a failed legacy foundation in the future. Guyzin, y’all can do the most and still be recognised with better money-making ideas.

Can we be balanced on the Idols SA poster circulated by the DCSR? Haai! Pure favouritism! Bongiwe Mdaka is from Tonga and yes, she might not have made it to the top 10 but no posters were made for her to gain votes from locals and then Ntokozo from Witbank makes the cut and we are asked to vote. Where is the fairness in all this?

Is it because Bongiwe is not Musa Sukwene’s neighbour because three contestants made it to the top 16 and needed those votes? Anyway, we can only hope for the best but still sifunukwazi why one is prioritised?

Have a great weekend and remember to be original because copies fade way too fast.

May the force be with you!
