Duo busted for health care fraud in Acornhoek

Both suspects will appear at the Mhala Regional Court today.

Two suspects aged 43 and 44 were arrested by members of Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit on Wednesday for allegedly issuing fraudulent prescriptions to patients.

The alleged illegal transactions reportedly took place during April 2015 and resulted in medical aid schemes losing approximately R1.5million.

The one suspect works at Tintswalo Hospital as an assistant pharmacist whilst the other owns a private Pharmacy in Acornhoek.

They will both  appear at the Mhala Regional Court today.
