Suspect fails to pitch in court for possession of illicit cigarettes
According to the Hawks, the accused has been found in Possession of Illicit Cigarette in contravention of Section 80 )(A) Customs and Excise Act, 91 OF 1964.
MPUMALANGA – A Warrant of Arrest has been issued against Henry Mavabaze Khoza who failed to appear in courts for sentencing in Possession of Illicit Cigarette valued at R667.000.00.
The suspect also committed the same crime at Machadodorp in December 2015 valued R500.000.00.
“His bail money of R3500.00 was forfeited to the state and J50 was authorised on December last year. After the arrest, he appeared at Nelspruit Regional Court on Monday, September 3 and he was remanded in custody until September 27,” said the Hawks.
In a separate case on Monday, Onassis Ntandoyenkosi Mkhatshwa appeared at White River Magistrate for Fraud and Theft. The accused purchased a vehicle with fraudulent documents in June at one of the garages in White River. The bail was set at R15000.00 and the case postponed to September 7 to the Nelspruit Reginal Court for further investigation.
