VIDEO: Great minds think alike for Benjamin and Samkelo

Benjamin wants to open his car workshop and to create job opportunities for the unemployed while Sameklo wants to uplift his community with his theme park.

Benjamin Phiri is known as “Mastermind” by his community for a reason. He has a good skill and puts his hands to good use.

Phiri has created a car that only uses electricity. He put together this prototype to prove that cars may not need petrol to move from one point to another.

It took him a year to complete the prototype and hopes that someone recognises his skill. “I would like to open my own car workshop one day where I get to work with cars and solve problems using electricity. But this is something really special to me and it could be my breakthrough,” says Phiri. Meanwhile, Pienaar’s Samekelo Thabethe built his prototype theme park that could make a positive impact in his community. His dream is to realise his park to be funded and hopes someone will notice his concept.

The car consists of headlights, indicators and two small generators that enables the car to move and the body is made out of wire.
Thabethe used cardboard, glue among other things to create this amazing piece. It took him less than six months to complete his project.
