DAANTJIE- The Mthethwa family is mourning the death of their daughter, Nonhlanhla  who was found brutally murdered near their house after she left for work at 4.30 last Wednesday but did not make it as she was found dead later that morning.

According to the deceased’s brother, Moses Mthethwa, Noni as she was affectionaltely called, always reported for work on time and usually walked to the main road with several other people, but on the day she was killed, it seemed she was on her own.” It was hard to identify who the woman was at the scene until I asked to check if she had a black mark on the neck. It was her and that shattered me because I had already been trying to call her cellphone but it took me straight to voicemail,” he said.

Senior Deputy Head of Uplands, Heidi Rea said the school is deeply saddened by the tragic and senseless loss of a valued and loved member. “She always had a smile on her face and touched the lives of staff and pupils alike in her daily interactions with us. We remember her family and in particular her three children in this difficult time. She will be sorely missed.” Police are investigating the case.
