Police are looking for cash-in-transit robbers

During the heist, a number of shots were fired randomly.

Police are looking for suspects that robbed a Fidelity armed vehicle during a cash-in-transit (CIT) heist on Monday in Vector Logistics at Heyneke Street.
Two vehicles started following the Fidelity armed CIT vehicle before it entered Vector Logistics.

“One of the vehicles followed the armed vehicle into the premises, they entered simultaneously with them and one was left outside. Just after they entered the premises, the suspects demanded that the two security officers open the vehicle. They took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

“During the heist, a number of shots were fired randomly and no one managed to see how many suspects were there. We do not know the amount because they were still on their way to count the money collected.

Vector Logistics is where they count the money collected from various businesses. Everything happened so fast within a short period of time,” said Hawks spokesperson in Mpumalanga, Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi.

“Anyone with information that can assist with the investigation can call Brig Obed Ngwenya on 082-565-6417 or call SAPS on 08600-10111,” said Sekgotodi.
