Miss Mpumalanga 2018 will be live on Soweto TV

The prestigious Mpumalanga beauty pageant, Crowning Miss Mpumalanga 2018 will be televised live on Soweto TV during this year’s crowning event which takes place on April 7, 2018 at the AGS Communio Hall situated in West Acres.
For the very first time in its eight-year history, Mzimari Productions and their principal sponsors, the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER) will be hosting a highly professional two-hour show in a 5 000-seater venue that will be transformed into a state-of-the-art spectacle that will far surpass previous crowning events that have been staged by the two entities.
MER’s CEO, Mr Bheki Mlambo said: “It’s about time we took the pageant to another level through aligning it in the class of the Miss South Africa standards because the brands we represent, which is the liquor and gambling regulation, are important components whose messages that are carried through this pageant, have to be spread not only provincially, but nationally, too.

“As an economic regulator entity, MER is duty bound to instil sanity on all citizens to be responsible gamblers and to regulate the issue of liquor licenses in responsible areas in our communities, at the same time, regulation of liquor consumption all in a manner of building a responsible society. From the finalists to the ultimate queen to be crowned, we’re grooming ambassadors that will be able to carry these messages through to the communities that we serve.

These are individuals that come with a vast experience from the communities they come from. Some may have been directly affected by it or indirectly, but the approach turns out to be very realistic as they begin to interact with communities during outreach programmes,” he said.
On the question of going live with this year’s crowning event, Mlambo said: “This is a prestigious event that has on record to be a must-see event each year. It has been able better portray our existence as a government entity. Through it, communities have had the opportunity to understand what our objective is in society and has produced phenomenal results.

“As a province, we have MER to boast of that has reached out to all sectors of society and this time around, it will be watched by millions of viewers on the night, which augurs well for us. Professionalism is at play here as the best production team is in place to put Mpumalanga on the map. It’s one event not to be missed and be a part of a history making event,” explained Mlambo.

The go-getter, Mzimari Productions’CEO, Ms Gugu Nyarenda.

Mzimari Productions’ CEO, Ms Gugu Nyarenda was beside herself with excitement when she said: “This is a dream come true for us and MER. This has long been coming our way, we’ve been waiting for the right time to launch a live show.

“Our technical teams are ready and all plans have been finalised and we are ready to hit the road on this live show. Our marketing team is out and about on their vigorous marketing of this new baby, the live show, which I promise all and sundry, the best show ever to be staged on Mpumalanga soil.

It’s all about the 12 finalists on the night because the throngs of supporters from the different municipalities represented here, all expectations will be focused on how best their girls perform on the night, and that’s what we’ll give them.
“There will be entertainment galore in between scenes pertaining to the event, with high calibre of entertainers drawn from home soil and inter spiced with national ones to make it worth their while, including deejays,” she said.

Tickets are already on sale through Computicket at R150 for normal tickets and R400 for VIPs.
“The After party which will be jam-packed with various entertainers, including deejays, will be hosted at the Emnotweni Arena after the main event where only VIPs will be accommodated until late,” concluded Nyarenda.

The Top 12 finalists are Bongiwe Sibeko, Lethabo Shai, Kim Davids, Vanessa Hollenbach, Sesi Madalane,Luyanda Ngwenya, Nolwazi Madalane, Nhlanhla Mahlangu, Marcia Sibeko, Sinehlanhla Nhlapo, Wamukelwa Mkhomzi and Angela Zunguza.
