The movie was banned from cinemas and classified as hard pornography.
Inxeba (The wound) has been unbanned by a Pretoria High Court order. It will be back on mainstream cinema screens from Friday.
It was announced on the film’s Twitter page, @TheWound_SAfilm on Tuesday.
According to the tweet, Webber Wentsel filed an urgent application of behalf of the film’s producers and distibutor, to reserve the X18 rating.
The high court order thus enables the film to return to public domain and be relieved of its imprisonment in sex shops as porn.
