Police on the trail of heist gang

The suspects disarmed the driver and the crew and forced them into the bushes and they blew open the vehicle by means of explosives and got away with undisclosed amount of money.

MBOMBELA – Police have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects who robbed G4S undisclosed amount of cash today at about 15:50 between Dayizenza mall and Numbi turnoff Masoyi area.

It is alleged that G4S armed vehicle was traveling from Dayizenza towards Hazyview when they heard bullets fired from their back, while they tried to run away, the other vehicles started shooting from the front and they were forced to stop.

After the suspects left, members of the community came and collected the money which was left scattered at the scene of the crime.

The Provincial Head of Mpumalanga Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, Major General Mokoena strongly condemned actions conducted by the community members at the scene of a crime.

Major General Mokoena further stated that whoever will be found to have been tampered with the crime scene will face the mighty hand of the law.
