Family concerned about teacher’s whereabouts

His vehicle was found in ignition mode near the Komati River on the following morning.

The family and friends of Mr Solomon Mkhabela, a teacher from Mehlobomvu Secondary School, are worried about his whereabouts.

Mkhabela left his home on Tuesday at midnight while his wife was sleeping.

His daughter Khetsiwe said her mother told her everything was fine when the couple went to sleep. “They read the bible and prayed together the previous night,” she said. “It’s very unlike him to leave without saying anything to anyone. He left his phone in the house and his wallet was found in the car,” she said.

She said divers looked in the river the entire day yesterday but couldn’t find anything.

“We plead with anyone who might see a man loitering the streets, bush or anywhere to help us,” Khetsiwe said.

A case of a missing person was opened at Komatipoort police.
