Through the grapevine

What a relief for many now that "Januworry" is over and we welcome the month of love.

It was really starting to get annoying seeing all those posts about your “pride and joys” starting school and what not. Can we just move on please?

Allow us to give praise to Sweetmike Singwane. Each time this guy plays at an event he leaves people begging for more. He understands what the purpose of a Sunday soul session is, and we praise him as the real soul king. The rest of the crew can take notes.

Is there a possibility of having ama soul queens this year? The princes and their king need a bit of competition. Any takers?

We’re curious to know when many mastered the art of baking. Lately there have been people who rate themselves as the best in town. We’re surely spoiled for choice, however, some of the designs should not to be shown to the public.

Disaster at its best! The best thing to do is to not tag the person who made it on your posts.
Moving right along, these so-called music and event promoters and managers seem to be confused. How do you expect local artists to have cars and to buy expensive booze at events when you rip them off? Is it really fair to make them sign contracts they hardly understand and make them perform for a plate of food and a couple of beers?

We’ve seen it happen and it continues to. Stop taking locals for granted. Please respect their craft and hustle. It’s also the artists’ responsibility to build their brands wisely, not forgetting the importance of association. Have a great weekend and remember this: Before you judge others, make sure you’re perfect.

May the force be with you!
