Through the grapevine

Let's just say January started on a low and dubious note for some. Anyway, the SAPS decided to host a media-networking session last Friday - not what most expected.

How do you meet with journalists and communicators on a Friday in January and not offer any alcoholic beverages?

Not that alcoholism is being promoted, but the late Can Themba once said, “Spirits make the words flow” and he was right indeed.
We will let it go only because the session was not that bad. However, we should point out that Brig Leonard Hlathi loves the SABC. Singaphikisani please! Anyway, there is a difference between print and TV media. Just thought we should remind others.

Then there was the Mpumalanga International Jazz Festival media tour to Graskop on Saturday, led by Celani Dube and his team. All we can say is we are eagerly waiting for the line-up announcement and hope and pray the likes of Babes Wodumo and DJ Tira will not be part of the festival. Event organisers have silly tendencies and forget how loyal revellers are. Only hoping those trends, including slay queens were left behind in 2017.

We would like to commend u-Babes Weradio, Lungile Mhango for celebrating her birthday with other scarred women. Very inspirational! To the copycats of Mbombela, do not host the same event on your birthdays. Lungile did it for her own reason, so let’s not come across similar invitations please.

Wishing you all a great weekend and do remember this: Who gossips with you will gossip about you.

May the force be with you!
