YCCISA and Economic Development Department assist macadamia farmers to access international market

Mashego says the farmers will be provided with macadamia trees, farming inputs which include chemicals laboratory testing and other related material.

The South African Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry( YCCISA) in partnership with the National Economic Development Department are urging farmers who are specialising in Macadamia to interact with them in order to be assisted to access international market.

The project is aimed at assisting macadamia farmers who are situated in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and KwaZulu Natal.

YCCISA acting president Victor Mashego says the project was initiated after realising that most of the farmers are failing to access the international market in order to sell their products.

” We have signed a three-year market deal with one of the biggest macadamia processing plants in China. The farmers who will qualify for the project are those who are already specialising in macadamia and looking for access to international market. Those who own secured land with water rights and are interested to start macadamia farming.”
