Police constable resigns after allegedly stealing a truck

The former Constable from Pienaar police station handed his resignation letter on November 10.

The 30-year-old police constable who was recently found in possession of a hijacked truck has resigned from the police sector.

According to Sgt Gerald Sedibe, spokesperson for the provincial police the former Const Kenny Martin Manana from Pienaar police station handed his resignation letter on November 10.

Manana and his co-accused, Mr Surprise Manana appeared in the White River Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of a stolen truck on November 8. They were released on a R3 000 bail each.

Both accused will also appear in the same court on November 17.

The officer and his co-accused also face an extra charge of hijacking which they appeared for in the Sabie Magistrate’s Court.

The two were arrested by the White River Flying Squad on October 26 after receiving information from a tracking company that the truck had taken a wrong turn between the Sabie and White River road.
