South Africa loses to France in 2023 Rugby World Cup bid
South African's dreams of hosting rugby 2023 world cup crushed.
South Africa has lost to France to host the Rugby World Cup in 2023 after the World Rugby Council vote in London.
They were competing against Ireland, France and South Africa.
The decision was made at a secret ballot earlier this morning. With 39 votes cast a simple majority of 20 was required for victory at Kensington’s Royal Garden Hotel, London.
This is what the people had to say about the announcement:
France will host the Rugby World Cup in 2023. It’s better that way because these events come with lots of promises that don’t get fulfilled and the benefits of hosting don’t trickle down to the people on the ground.
