Dam levels still low

More rain is need to recover from effects of the drought

MBOMBELA – Despite the heavy rain, dam levels are still low. The provincial spokesperson for the Department of Water and Sanitation, Mr Themba Khoza, said there has not been much change.

“We still need more rain. It will take time to recover from the effects of the drought and get to full capacity. We are appealing to community members to use water sparingly. Some of the dams that have low water levels include Driekoppies and Mlomati at 44,4 per cent as recorded yesterday as opposed to the 44,6 per cent last month,” said Khoza.
