Mbombela, get ready for all that jazz

Spring has sprung in the Lowveld and in only the second week, award-winning artists have visited the region. Get ready for the Mbombela Jazz Festival this weekend!

African music stars are set to jazz up Mbombela Stadium this weekend as we welcome spring. The star-studded lineup includes jazz musician, producer and songwriter, Don Laka, real name Donald Mahwetša Laka, as well as Zimbabwean musician, businessman, philanthropist, human-rights activist and Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for southern Africa Region, Oliver Mtukudzi.

With his husky voice, Mtukudzi has become the most recognised to emerge from Zimbabwe onto the international scene and has earned a devoted following across Africa and beyond. He and Laka will also be joined by Afrotraction who will mesmerise the crowd with his R&B and neo-soul tracks such as “Ngimtholile” and many more.

Songstress Amanda Black, who gained recognition in 2016 after releasing her single, “Amazulu”, will also grace the stage. If you’re looking forward to hearing songs like “Kahle” and others from her album, make sure you get there. And what would be a festival without KZN’s West Ink Crew,
featuring Gqom queen, Babes Wodumo, who shot to fame with her hit, “Wololo”, Big Nuz, L’vovo and kwaito musician, Professor.
