Fifa order rematch between Bafana Bafana and Senegal

Fifa has ordered a rematch between South Africa and Senegal.

This is after the Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey was found guilty of unduly influencing the result of the match that was between Bafana Bafana and Senegal on November 12, 2016. The referee was banned for life and his appeal against his life ban failed.
One of the Bafana Bafana’s goals came as a result of a penalty awarded for a hand ball, although it was clear that the player never touched the ball. South Africa won the match by 2-1.

South Africa is already in the bottom of their group and the rematch that will happen during the November international window means more pressure on Bafana Bafana who already have a slim chance of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
