The ANC leadership at Ehlanzeni region said they are busy with their own investigations on the matter. The regional secretary, Mr Abraham Phazamisa Mathe said: “We have organised a meeting with the councillor and all the structures involved in the matter so that he can give us the real sense of what really prompted him to end up shooting in a public area. We are also waiting for the court judgement on the case and we will then take our own decision accordingly.”

The protesters have vowed to continue with the protest up until their concerns are addressed.
