Female DJ rocks the air with love of Deep house

The best DJ of the year nominee in the 2017 Sunrise Women's Awards started her music career in 2010, while studying civil engineering at the Vaal University of Technology.

DJ Notrix, or rather Nomagugu Mubi, born and bred in Mataffin outside Mbombela, is one of the few female deep-house music producers the province has at its disposal.

She said she drew inspiration from her uncle who used to play a lot of house music. “While I was at university, I had a lot of friends who loved deep-house music and I then found myself falling in love with it, so I started to learn how to mix and produce it myself,” she said.
