Ten people killed in three accidents in Mpumalanga
Four people died on April 16 when a double cab Nissan hardbody collided head on with a Polo Sedan carrying six occupants on the R35 Middelburg to Bethal road.
Three major crashes claimed 10 lives on the roads of the province between Good Friday and Sunday.
“There is a slight decline of accidents as compared to last year although we expect the figures to change as many will be travelling back from the holidays today,”
says MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Mr Petrus Ngomane on Monday.

The driver and three passengers from the Polo died on the scene while three occupants and the driver of the double cab sustained serious injuries.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated, ” he says.
Another head on collision between two sedans on the R29 road, at Kinross claimed two lives on Sunday.

A passenger who was seated at the back seat sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. It is alleged that the driver of the bakkie vehicle disappeared from the scene.
“Investigations still continue on the cause of the accident,” explained Ngomane.
Another four lives were lost on the D2488 road between Mayflower and Mpuluzi with four sustaining serious injuries when three vehicles collided. This happened allegedly after the driver of Kia SUV made a U-turn on a curve while two sedans were coming on the other side of the road and he collided with them.
