ER24 and Netcare911 paramedics attended the scene. The entire front end of the taxi was smashed in the collision.
Two people, including the driver, were trapped in the front of the taxi.

They were in a critical condition and freed with Jaws of Life. According to Netcare911 spokesman, Mr Chris Botha, the fire department had to remove the taxi from under the truck before they could be freed. Other passengers were also injured. The truck driver was unharmed.
