Young model sets eyes on being the next Miss Jnr SA

MBOMBELA – Locally based beauty, 15-year-old Luyanda Siyabonga Mjaji a grade 10 learner at Lowveld High has set her eyes on winning this year’s Miss SA Junior Teen Competition.

Her passion for modelling started at the age of nine. In 2016 she won the Miss Lowveld Teen and Ms Pageant Mpumalanga.

Those awards come two years after being the overall winner in Model Cup.

Luyanda says she entered the current competition after being noticed by the pageant’s organisers in the Miss Pageant SA MP 2016, where she was crowned as the 1st Princess.

“I was then scouted by the co-ordinator of Pageant SA who then asked me to enter for the current competition the ‘The SA Junior Teen Competition’ to be held between April 4 and April 8.

Pageants SA was founded by Ms Carolyn Baldwin in 1999 after having seen that the South African market desperately needed a pageantry system that was above board and most importantly honest and fair.

To date, the pageant has crowned more than 6 000 title holders with the various titles owned by Pageants SA.

A representative from the company conformed Luyanda’s entrance among 140 others entrants from the country.
