Premier leads team to Russia

The mission follows a visit to Mbombela by the Russian Ambassador to South Africa Mr Mikhail Petrakov, in June this year where he met with Mabuza and discussed the potential cooperation between Mpumalanga Province and some regions in Russia.

MBOMBELA – Premier David Mabuza will lead a five-day outbound mission to the Russian Federation as from December 3-10.
He will be accompanied by Agriculture Rural Development Land and Environmental Affairs MEC Vusi Shongwe, Economic Development MEC Skhumbuzo Kholwane and Health MEC
Gillion Mashego and their respective heads of departments. Other senior government include MEGA Chief Executive Officer Xola Sithole as well as the Deputy-Director General for Macro Policy in the Office of the Premier Thami Ngwenya.

The delegation is expected to formalize cooperation around economic infrastructure, tourism, mineral beneficiation technologies, wood processing technologies, recycling of industrial waste and technical cooperation in health both in sending students to study medicine, and the exchange of expertise in medicine and sourcing of medical technologies.
