Victims’ families get more support

Women societies from various townships around Mbombela, accompanied by delegates from the office of the Mbombela mayor, visited the families of the three miners that are still trapped at Lily Mine on Sunday.

LOW’S CREEK – It has been nine months since the container with the three workers plummeted down the depths of the mine. During the first few days of the tragedy many thought the three miners were going to be rescued.
The mine, however was too unstable which diminshed the chances of rescue. Conditions posed too huge a risk to the rescue team. Families are, however, still hopeful that the bodies of their loved ones will be retrieved.

I feel like she will just appear and talk to me again,” he added.
