No phone lines at Kanyamazane Police Station

The landlines ring, but to no avail as no one answers them.

KANYAMAZANE – The residents of KaNyamazane have been struggling to get ahold of the local police station telephonically.

Journalists can confirm that contacting the police station is a nightmare. The landlines ring, but to no avail as no one answers them. This is said to have been the case since last year April.

“They say there is a cell-phone number we should call but as residents, we don’t know that number because it is not displayed anywhere nor has it been given to us,” said an angry resident who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of victimisation.

Const Ncobile Mnisi, spokesperson for Kanyamazane, confirmed that the telephone lines have not been working for a while now and the matter has been reported to the relevant authorities.
