Acornhoek – Five people died on the D3930 road between Acornhoek and Hluvukani this morning.
The accident occurred when a vehicle plunged into a group of young people believed to be have been returning from a tavern.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle before plunging into the five. Three of the deceased were killed instantly and two died at the Matikwane hospital. The deceased are aged between 15 and 18 years.

The police are still investigating the matter. Meanwhile Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Petros Ngomane has wished those who were injured a speedy recovery.
The MEC is however concerned about the number of crashes that continue to claim lives of young people and children. He says motorists should consciously decide to drive to stay alive and also let others live.
