Sixth accident victim declared dead

Their caskets lied side by side at the local church which was filled to the brim with family, friends, Vodacom employees where Samkelisiwe and Hloniphile were employed plus teachers and learners from schools where the children attended.

MSHADZA- The sixth victim of the road accident that previously claimed five people from two families had been declared death.

The victims, two from Ngwenya family Samkelisiwe (24) with her son Philasande Ngwenya and their friends Ms Hloniphile, Wandile and Banele Mona were buried on Sunday.

Mr Joseph Mabuza confirmed the latest victim’s death on Tuesday. The victims were travelling in a bakkie which lost control and overturned on the N4 road last week.

Three of the victims died on the spot and while two of them died in hospital. Five other occupants including the driver were taken to Steve Biko Hospital where some are recovering from serious injuries. A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
