Indigenous games underway

Team Mpumalanga will compete for top honours against the other provinces in the following codes: dibeke, diketo, drie stokies, intonga, jukskei, kgati, khokho, morabararaba and incuva.

MATIBIDI – Preparations for Team Mpumalanga that is set to participate in the National Indigenous Games Festival got underway at Forever Resort Blydepoort Canyon last  Wednesday.

The games are  held in Seshego in Polokwane from September 24  until September 28. The team, which comprise members from all the three regions of the province attended  the camp to finalize strategy for the games.

“We are happy with what we have seen since morning. The team is looking sharp. We started the training programme with a five-kilometre jog in the morning. The attention will now shift into code specific training,” says the department’s Teddy Ndlazi.
