27 year old man arrested for killing mum
He also buried his mum's body in a shallow grave inside a rondavel in their yard.
VOSMAN – A 27-year-old man appeared before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with the murder of his own 65-year-old mother.
Information at police disposal reveals that the suspect, Sandile Nhlapho attacked and killed his mother, Florah Masuku at their home at Hlalanikahle in Vosman. He further buried her in a shallow grave inside a rondavel which is in their yard.
This emerged after he confessed his evil deeds on September 18, to a member of the local Community Police Forum who in turn alerted the police.
A probe was immediately instituted and all role-players summoned to the scene, including forensic experts. They then dug in the rondavel and the body of the women was retrieved and taken to a mortuary . The suspect was then arrested and charged with murder.
He was remanded in custody until September 27, pending a formal bail application.
