Traffic officer released on R3 000 bail
He was arrested by members of the Hawks on Sunday (August 14) after receiving information that he demanded R800 bribe from a motorist at the Way Bridge in Middleburg.
WITBANK- A 39 year old traffic officer,, Mr Serobane Micheal Mohlala arrested in connection with corruption and defeating the ends of justice appeared in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
The court released him on R3 000 and postponed the matter for further investigations to September 16.

Mohlala was arrested by members of the Hawks last Sunday (August 14) after receiving information that the officer demanded R800 bribe from a motorist at Way Bridge in Middleburg.

“The information was followed on and the officer was arrested immediately after receiving the bribe and the bribe was confiscated from his pockets during the arrest,” explained Capt Dineo Sekgotodi spokesperson of the Hawks in Mpumalanga.
