Peter Nyoni has been appointed HOD for Cogta in Mpumalanga
Nyoni was one of the leaders of the Save ANC Mpumalanga group who openly challenged the leadership of the province as led by Premier DD Mabuza to transparency, accountability, nepotism and corruption.
Once controversial ANC leader who has now reconciled with the organisation, Mr Peter Nyoni, has been appointed the new Head of Department in Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) during the provincial government’s Executive Council sitting on Wednesday.
Nyoni was one of the leaders of the Save ANC Mpumalanga group who openly challenged the leadership of the province as led by Premier DD Mabuza to transparency, accountability, nepotism and corruption. He fell foul from administrative leadership when he was removed as a Chief Director in the department of Human Settlements a few years back.

Nyoni is one of the disgruntled members of the ANC who vowed never to leave the ANC, but would fight and correct wrongs from within its ranks, but he and others remained the main critics, but they have trickled back to the organisation long before the local government elections took place and assisted in the various election campaigns across the province.

Mr Mokgema Mongane, appointed Chief Director: Engineering Services and Quality Assurance [Department of Human Settlements); Mr Mafunda Mhlanga, appointed Chief Director: Corporate Services [Department of Human Settlements]; Ms Lusanda Mayakaza, appointed Chief Director: Chief Construction Project Manager Grade A for Nkangala [Department of Human Settlements]; Mr Sibusiso Brown, appointed Chief Director: Chief Construction Project Manager Grade A for Gert Sibande [Department of Human Settlements].
